    Heh I agree, was …
    Heh I agree, was simply saying if there was anything I stand up for it be that, not sure I would actually do it, but if I was to stand up for something, it be something tangible.

  • Neanderthalcouzin:

    I hear you but the …
    I hear you but the thing is, who actually cares about saying something you don’t ‘believe’ in to have your life spared. I ascribe to evolution as well. If a madman put a gun to me and told me to renounce it or be shot, I’d instantly say ‘I renounce it’, to make the madman go away before I get shot. It’s not a religion or a faith, and all you’re doing is saving your life. He could tell me to say I love clowns, which I don’t, and I would say that.

  • Neanderthalcouzin:

    My feelings on …
    My feelings on evolution and the rights of, say, my gay brothers and sisters is based on reasoned logic, my internal moral compass, empirical evidence, learning, etc, not declarative religious statements or faith. It’s the weight of logic and the scientific method that wins out in the end–the closest approximation to truth of how things work–and personal emotions/faith/belief are fairly irrelevant. So I’d stand on my head and say Darwin was clown, and I love clowns, and whatever else.
    peace.

  • wolfwing1:

    I’m not sure what …
    I’m not sure what they would be…but if there was anything it be reason, logic, reality, or the kid being themselves. If Then again renouncing isn’t nescarily going to cause harm, but I could see refusing to reject evolution at gun point, or refusing to renouncing being gay if one was far more then renouncing some god that we don’t even know if it exists.

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @ …
    @ HelmutVonSphincter Haha thanks Dude I really appreciate it.

    And I’m pretty sure that Kris guy is like 14 or 15 years old so it’s all good. He was just having a little fun.

  • HelmutVonSphincter:

    excellent vid OGjim …
    excellent vid OGjim. Looking forward to more in this series. We get it, even if this Kris guy doesn’t . Amazing the level of denial when polluted with religion. Difficult to penetrate the psychobubble.

  • kristophershaun:

    watch?v=6gYIvXBKj8U …
    watch?v=6gYIvXBKj8U&feature=related

    been having fun

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @kristophershaun …
    @kristophershaun Meh, the seriousness of the video is more production value than anything however I do consider anyone who supports Mr. Baldwins approach in this matter to be suffering from a serious error in thinking.

    Are we having fun yet?

  • kristophershaun:

    yes you’re taking …
    yes you’re taking this hypothetical situation and making a call to be against it like something serious.. wow even more so you’re taking something a baldwin is saying as something serious… wasn’t even sure that was possible

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @kristophershaun It …
    @kristophershaun It is not my hypothetical situation, it is Mr. Baldwins.

    And if I had a lightsaber I would be out robbing banks right now.

  • kristophershaun:

    i miss the point …
    i miss the point because i don’t stare at the boobtube for hours on end like some. your hypothetical situation is very laughable, go play with the force some kenobi maybe make a video dancing around with a lightsaber cutting down faiths where they need to be lol

  • kristophershaun:

    diseased way of …
    diseased way of thinking? what are you talking about? because guns are held to kids heads everyday and they’re asking them if Jesus exists? kirk cameron? where is kirk cameron coming from? you must love attacking hollywood christians. well i like attacking hollywood period because of the stupidity, but basing yours on a collective’s views… that’s just pathetic. so i’m in the vast minority because i think this video is dumb? the christian faith is in just about every country now.. try again

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @kristophershaun …
    @kristophershaun I’m not a Christian so I don’t care what you do in the privacy of your own home.

    I’m using the situation as an example and a warning to others about what can happen if you let this diseased way of thinking completely take over your life.

    U say the video fails then give it a 1 star rating and go watch some Kirk Cameron videos or something. You are in the vast minority with that opinion.

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @kristophershaun …
    @kristophershaun You miss the point entirely. It doesn’t matter if the answer the gunman is telling the child to give is true or not, a real, sane human being would tell the child to say whatever the gunman wants, anything to keep him from shooting the child.

  • kristophershaun:

    you’re judging not …
    you’re judging not the perspective of the whole community so nothing has really “Gone too far” except maybe in the baldwins household… so ya if you want to protest te practices in a private home go ahead. in any case this video is a fail and completely one sided, but that’s the case with most atheists when it pertains to something they aren’t to aware of and especially from the mainstream media

  • kristophershaun:

    idea that the …
    idea that the spirit is more important than the body. and if you believe this then how can you look at death so harsh and cruel when you go to a better place afterards. and if you’re atheists then i don’t see how anything can matter. beccause when you die nothing happens, so in any of the cases is death really that bad? but ya this is “big brother” and mainstream media

  • kristophershaun:

    well the entire …
    well the entire notion presented is kind of dumb honestly. “Does Jesus exist?” well to say “No.” to that would be denying history and i didn’t know people killed over denying historical fact. it’s like saying “I’m going to kill you if you believe Alexander The Great existed.” just sheer stupidity. america and england are not alone in this either look at the tibetan monks being persecuted by the chinese. if you believe in anything spiritual there tends to be the

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @kristophershaun He …
    @kristophershaun He said it during an episode of “Celebrity Big Brother UK Edition”.

  • kristophershaun:

    it looked like he …
    it looked like he has a bible in his hand.. was he preaching on tv or something and said that?

  • richdorks73:

    God put us here for …
    God put us here for a brief stop before we enter heaven and eternity. He made all the beautiful trees, flowers, animals, etc around us.
    Many have come to the conclusion that our existence is more likely to be a nice bit of luck. A brief, precious existence.
    How could the religious claim to value life more than me?

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @laraesque Damn, …
    @laraesque Damn, another really well constructed comment.

    That is pretty much exactly the point I was trying to get across with the video but I think you may have done an even better job of it..

    Once again, nice work.

  • laraesque:

    You have to …
    You have to remember, ogjimkenobi, that this kind of self-righteous *(*&^! is straight out of biblical insanity. Remember that God wanted his pious follower to kill his own son. And the idiot was going to do it! This is the same mentality that Hitler’s henchmen had–just following orders, loyal to the end, regardless how heinous their actions are.

  • laraesque:

    So, if these folks …
    So, if these folks don’t care if their kids die, why are they so upset about abortion? They’ll just see them in heaven anyway. I’ll tell someone the sky is striped if it would keep them from killing me or my kids. Who cares? His daughter’s statement doesn’t change what she believes. I wonder if this guy has ever broken a single commandment. If he has, for any reason, then he can’t possibly expect his daughter to be religiously perfect when her life is at stake. How cruel.

  • ogjimkenobi:

    All that being said …
    All that being said you never know how someone would actually react if the situation really did happen.

    I would like to think that faced with the reality of the situation, Stephen would do whatever he could to save his daughter’s life, including telling her to “pretend” to blaspheme God.

  • ogjimkenobi:

    @Sahuagin
    Yeah …

    @Sahuagin
    Yeah it’s all good Dude, I didn’t mean to get all bent outta shape about it.

    In any case I can pretty much guarantee that if the scenario were presented to Mr. Baldwin with no religious context involved his game would be quite different.

    Like if the bad man told his daughter to say “Larry King is the most exciting show I’ve ever seen” I’m sure Stephen wouldn’t think twice about telling her to do what the man with the gun told her to do.
