What do you mean by demonic counterfeit gifts? Do you believe that the devil has enough power to be able to "bestow" demonic gifts to people? I definitely don’t. God only gives good gifts. I was under the impression that no mortal had any gifts according to Christians. Only God and his son. Actually if I look back in history, the Church considered that heresy. References :
I believe the the false gift is given and manifested to replace the spiritual gifts given by God. Basically, the believer loves the false gift more than the spiritual gift and the spiritual gift is suppressed.
