No follower of Christ can turn their back on someone who needs help if they are able to help them

some do, they will answer for that. Some help and get stabbed in the back for helping out.

I would rather err on the helping side and take the risk.

I am sorry to hear of your plight, I would recommend you find smaller churches, they seem to stick to the straight and narrow a bit more than the more effluent ones do. I think it has to do with depending on God a bit more.

First of all, I’m sorry that you are going through a difficult time right now. I really do pray that you are back on your feet soon.

You have to understand that Jesus was talking to the Church as in the people and not the building or organization. It is the people who need to stand up and take action. We are living in a time when those who claim to be followers of Christ exemplify the opposite of his example.

It is also difficult in situations where there are families for them to open their doors to a total stranger. Please hold on and know that there are people out there who do follow the example of Christ and will lend you a hand. Also understand that there are those who are focus more on their personal comfort than for their fellow man.

In my experience there are some people that you can’t help. Did you take there invitation to be saved! That is when Christian can help. I Know I helped people that lived under bridges, bought them clothes and found then a place to stay and they Still wouldn’t work or help their selves So tell me HOW do you help people that wont help their selves. I wasted resources that could have helped someone that wanted help

I am a co-dependant everytime I have tried to help people thay have leached off of me, becasue I do not knwo how to set proper boundaries, my forst two husbands did not work and wanted a mommy, most fo my women friends wanted a mommy as well. A nieghbor I have helped out is OCD about housework and wants me to be her hospise help and clean her house while she supervises it, I don;t think i can do this as my dad use to be so OCD about housework and my mom refused to do the work herself so guess who got stuck with it. I can only randomly helpt people, I can’t et them stay with me, a roommate of mine use to set up robbberies so she could support her drug habit and then her ten year old girl sexually molested my son, I mean we all have our victim story.
YOU NEED TO FIND A JOB, WAITING ON YOUR DREAM IS NOT GONNA HELP YOU, GET A TEMPORARY JOB. thats what I did when I was a punk rocker, I worked temp. jobs, you can;t wait for the book to be published and hope people will love it and live off of your dream, you have to go out every day and get a job until you get one, or stand on the corner and beg liek the hoemless peopel do.

Unfortunately a lot of Christians don’t do stuff like that anymore. I don’t know why because I certainly would if I had my own place (I live with my mom who doesn’t even like to have friends over…).
It says in 1 John 3:17 “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?”
It’s wretched to neglect helping someone in need and I’m sorry that no one has come to help you. It’s such a shame that a lot of the people in the church who are supposed to represent Christ are the ones who don’t.
Don’t lose heart though because you said yourself you have helped others in need. It says in Deuteronomy 15:10 “Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.” So your generosity has not been overlooked. Jesus will send you the perfect job and shelter. Start declaring it and thanking Him for it!

first question is are you a christian? are you a faithful member of a church. if no, then it may explain a few things. if yes, then the truth is, yes, your church should have taken you in and yes, they should have helped you out. i dont know what happened or why they didnt do stuff. faith is not in man (even fellow believers) but in God so don’t go losing your faith because of what man does.

I read your question carefully and I clearly see that you are at the point of having a nervous breakdown. I symphatise with you but but stop reacting like you have even lost your faith in God. He always has a good reason behind all trials that besets us but it does not mean that he will not help you at all.God knows what is best for you and getting dole outs from fellow Christians may not be what is in his mind. You must be patient. Help is on the way in Gods, own time, not yours.Keep praying and give thanks to the Lord. Trust him. Merry Christmas.
