Jesus’ Birth Foretold

Jesus’ birth and mission were foretold, Luke 1: 26-38 (Isa. 7: 14; 9: 6-7; 1 Ne. 11). Was born, Luke 2: 1-7 (Matt. 1: 18-25). Video extracts from Jesus of Nazareth DVD by Lionsgate set to Amy Grant’s “Little Town of Bethlehem”.

Originally made for TV in 1977, this in-depth (six hours plus) version of Jesus’ life is so thorough that the first hour is devoted solely to the story of his birth. The film doesn’t skimp on some of the other landmark events of this famous story either. Director Franco Zeffirelli gives more than 12 minutes screen time each to the Last Supper and the Crucifixion. Passages of the Bible are quoted verbatim, the locations have a Palestine-like authenticity, and, aside from some of the principals (Robert Powell as Jesus, Olivia Hussey as Mary, and Stacy Keach as Barabbas),

Leonardo da Vinci, Mona Lisa and the Shroud of Turin

The Man Behind the Shroud?
There is a very credible theory that Leonardo created the Shroud of Turin by a photographic technique. Could it be his face?

Radio carbon dating of the fabric of the shroud places it a while before Leonardo’s birth so clearly in is a medieval fake as were many relicks. Leonardo wasn’t stupid; if he were to try to fake it he would have used old cloth so the dating is consistent.

The Mona Lisa certainly looks like Leonardo. Whether the face on the shroud is him – who knows? It seems to have some similarities. There is a statue of Leonardo I saw which looks rather spookily like the shroud.

Who knows? We probaly never will but given the photographic qualities of the shroud and the fact that Leonardo was using camera obscura and showed interest in photosenstive chemicals while the transformed shroud resurfaced in a village near Leonardo’s workshop at a time when he was at his height, it make’s you think…

Cruised into a bar on the shore
Her picture graced the grime on the door
She a long lost love at first bite
Baby maybe you’re wrong, but you know it’s all right
That’s right

Backstage we’re having the time
Of our lives until somebody say
Forgive me if I seem out of line
Then she whipped out her gun
And tried to blow me away

Dude looks like a lady

So never judge a book by it’s cover
Or who you’re going to love by your lover
Love put me wise to her love in disguise
She had the body of a Venus
Lord imagine my surprise

Dude looks like a lady

Baby let me follow you down
Let me take a peek dear
Baby let me follow you down
Do me, do me, do me all night
Baby let me follow you down
Turn the other cheek dear
Baby let me follow you down
Do me, do me, do me, do me

Ooh what a funky lady
She like it, like it, like it, like that,
Ooh he was a lady

Dude looks like a lady

Dude, dude, dude, dude looks like a lady

Mother of all history conspiracies?

Has history been tampered with? Did events and eras such as the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Roman Empire , the Dark Ages, and the Renaissance, actually occur within a very different chronology from what we’ve been told? Yes, they certainly did! The history of humankind is both drastically shorter and dramatically different than generally presumed.
Why is it so? On one hand, it was usual custom to justify the claims to title and land by age and ancestry, and on the other the court historians knew only too well how to please their masters. The so called universal classic world history is a pack of intricate lies for all events prior to the 16th century. It’s likely that nobody told you before, but
there is not a single piece of firm written evidence or artefact that is reliably and independently dated prior to the 11th century.
Naturally, after what you’ve learned in school and university, you will not easily believe that the classical history of ancient Rome, Greece, Asia, Egypt, China, Japan, India, etc., is manifestly false.

You will point accusing finger to the pyramids in Egypt, to the Coliseum in Rome and Great Wall of China etc., and claim, aren’t they really ancient, thousands of years ancient? Well, there is no valid scientific proof that they are older than 1000 years!

The oldest original written document that can be reliably dated belongs to the 11th century!

New research asserts that Homo sapiens invented writing (including hieroglyphics) only 1000 years ago. Once invented, writing skills were immediately and irreversibly put to the use of ruling powers and science.

The consensual chronology we live with was essentially crafted in the 16th century by Jesuits.

Early in life, we learn by heart the names and deeds of brave warriors, wise philosophers, fabulous pharaohs, cunning high priests and greedy scribes. We learn of gigantic pyramids and sinister castles, kings and queens, dukes and barons, powerful heroes and beautiful ladies, emaciated saints and low-life traitors. Dr debunks not merely the odd pillar, but the total, entire bastion of historical dating, proposing a 700 to 1000 year fictitious “add-on” section between 400 AD and 1100 AD (or larger) & argues that the conventional chronology sequence of almost EVERYTHING is erroneous.
Even if partially true this would be scary stuff.
Forget forbidden archeology which is for kindergarten….

Passion – For Our Sins

**Video was recently made public again**

Hi everybody, I put this together for a Christian conference about three years ago, for a talk about the crucifixion of Jesus, and just now thought to put it online for everyone else to enjoy. While this video focuses primarily on the crucifixion, I believe it’s important to be reminded of what he went through for us, so that we might live forever with him. We owe him everything… I’m not sure about all the legal mumbo-jumbo, but to give credit where credit is due… the movie clips are taken from “Passion of the Christ” and the song is “Here With Me” by Mercy Me. I hope you enjoy this and I pray that this may strengthen your walk with Christ. God Bless!

Shroud of Turin — Burial Cloth of Jesus Christ

Quran says in Sura 4:157-158 “And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger – they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain. But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise.”

This video clip contains a collection of valid evidences that support the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin. Excerpt from National Geographic about the Secrets of the Shroud is for “fair use” and review. The Carbon dating is the only evidence that is against the authenticity of the shroud and National Geographic’s video provides the best explanation to refute the claims of medieval forgery.

This Shroud of Turin shall refute that the revelation in Quran Sura 4:157-158. The said verses contradict with the accounts on the 4 gospels of Jesus in the Holy Bible. Even if compared to the words of Lord Jesus, the above verse can be proven to be inaccurate beyond reasonable doubts in accordance with the Mosaic law.

The conclusion that Shroud of Turin is the burial cloth of Lord Jesus comes from the following ten (10) material facts:-

1. The image on the shroud could not be duplicated or reproduced exactly by any latest photographic technology;

2. The striking negative image was first observed on the evening of May 28, 1898 on the reverse photographic plate of amateur photographer Secondo Pia who was unexpectedly allowed to photograph it as part of an exhibition for the Turin Cathedral;

3. Professor of Ancient History Dr Daniel Scavone testified that no ancient artists have produced similar paintings of Jesus;

4. Shroud Documenting Photographer Barrie M. Schwortz , an Orthodox Jew testified that he believed the shroud is the burial cloth of Jesus;

5. Forensic pathologist Fred Zugibe believed that the image of the crucified man match the accounts mentioned in the Gospel of John 19:34 (But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water);

6. Textile historian Flury-Lemberg testified that the shroud or linen was found in the first century similar to the one she saw at Masada, Israel;

7. The explanation for the radiocarbon dates on the Shroud of Turin being younger than the time of Christ is that the sample of shroud used for carbon dating and original shroud are not identical. There is some kinds of manipulation or ignorance to use the sample taken from the medieval repair patch due to a fire in 1532.;

8. Kenneth Steven Author of Shroud and the Controversy testified that pollen grains found on the shroud were available in Europe, Palestine, Southern Turkey, Masada etc which mean this shroud is likely to be carried to those places at certain time in the past.;

9. The bodily injuries of the crucified man fit exactly with Lord Jesus mentioned in the Holy Bible. Visible injuries are the lashes at the back of the body, pierced wounds at the base of the thumb and feet, spear wound at the chest and injuries at the shoulder from carrying rough object likely the cross beam for the crucifixion.;

10. The early Church has always believed it to be the burial cloth of Jesus ever since it was reportedly seen as the Edessa Cloth in Constantinople in 944 AD. Now it is permanently kept in the royal chapel of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, Italy — hence known as Shroud of Turin.

Quote from Barrie M. Schwortz
“Frankly, I am still Jewish, yet I believe the Shroud of Turin is the cloth that wrapped the man Jesus after he was crucified. That is not meant as a religious statement, but one based on my privileged position of direct involvement with many of the serious Shroud researchers in the world, and a thorough knowledge of the scientific data, unclouded by media exaggeration and hype. The only reason I am still involved with the Shroud of Turin is because knowing the unbiased facts continues to convince me of its authenticity.”

Jesus lived a perfect life, He died for the sins of mankind, He was raised from the dead, and then He ascended into heaven. By accepting him as Lord and Savior by grace through faith we are forgiven. Christians don’t base these beliefs on the Shroud of Turin or any other ancient artifact. Rather, Christians have faith in Lord Jesus and accept these things because of a belief in the truthfulness of the Holy Bible.

Burn After Reading

There’s plenty of fire in Burn After Reading, the Coen brothers’ playful and pungent tale set amid the bungling bureaucrats of the CIA and an assortment of other ditzy denizens of Washington, D.C.

Focus Features
John Malkovich portrays a CIA analyst with a drinking problem in the Coen brothers’ latest film, “Burn After Reading.”
In the Coens’ coterie of accomplishments, Burn After Reading is less like last year’s scary, Oscar-winning No Country for Old Men and more like the giddily humorous Fargo. There is, though, a shocking moment of violence in Burn After Reading.

The film has a clique of dysfunctional, insecure, crazed characters dealing with paranoia, infidelity and spy vs. spy antics. George Clooney and Brad Pitt, in particular, oceans apart from their Ocean’s 11, 12 and 13 indulgences, craft moments that are not only funny but touching.

Then there’s Frances McDormand, the fine actress who’s married to co-writer, co-producer, co-director (with his brother, Ethan) Joel Coen, who guided her to an Oscar for Fargo.

An employee of the Hardbodies Fitness Center in Georgetown, an incessant online dater, desperate for plastic surgery, she creates a heartbreaking portrait of a miserably lonely woman who can’t grasp a meaningful relationship.

Consistently histrionic John Malkovich, meanwhile, plays a CIA analyst, demoted because of an apparent drinking problem. His explosions of rancor at agency honchos blasts from the screen: You’re a Mormon, he scowls at one lightweight. Next to you, we all have a drinking problem! Then, he bellows, This is a crucifixion! arms spread, Jesus-like.

Malkovich’s performance is laced with detonations of a certain four-letter word. He’s wild, angry and unforgettable. His most touching vignette is at home, during the day, unemployed, drinking, gazing at the tube, a vintage episode of Family Feud.

Tilda Swinton, the Oscar winner for Michael Clayton, portrays Malkovich’s wife, a self-absorbed pediatrician who’s cheating on him with Clooney (her Michael Clayton co-star), a bumbling federal marshal. Swinton, so icy, so demeaning, and scruffily-bearded Clooney, so paranoid, so taken with himself (Maybe I can get in a run, he says after every sexual encounter), together again is sweet.

Clooney is pushing an admirable career that includes The Good German, Good Night, and Good Luck and an Oscar in 2005 for Syriana. Obsessed with flooring (don’t ask), suffering from lactose reflux (don’t ask), he’s a memorable doofus in Burn After Reading.

The frosted-haired Pitt is delightful, too, as a dim-bulb trainer at Hardbodies who gets in over his head after finding a disc of Malkovich’s memoirs. He’s demonstrated serious acting chops in Babel and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

In Burn After Reading, his comedic talents are impressive. With iPod earphones attached, he bops to the music. One of these days, Pitt deserves an all-out, singular comedy role.

Richard Jenkins, the skillful actor from The Visitor and TV’s Six Feet Under, is the fitness center manager who pines for McDormand though she’s too busy online meeting men. With merely a glance, he creates a note of sadness, as he did in The Visitor.

Burn After Reading is a roundelay of suspicion, of who’s following whom. The cast has rapport or, as thick-headed Pitt pronounces it, rap-port.

There are numerous small pleasures: Clooney warbling My Eyes Adored You in the shower, Pitt and McDormand plotting at a Jamba Juice, Malkovich in a drunken reunion with his Princeton alumni pals, Swinton nastily threatening a kid in her office to open his mouth.

Small pleasures that add up to a large, 95-minute one.
